GVMS Faculty & Staff Appreciation Dinner

The Great Valley Middle School PTO is organizing a special dinner to show our appreciation for our dedicated faculty and staff the evening of Monday, November 25th. You can support the event via volunteering that day, providing a dessert, purchasing from our Amazon Wish List, or donating via our "Just Donate" link.

In the signup below, we are asking for desserts for the dinner and volunteers to help with the event. GVMS PTO Ice Skating at Power Play Rinks

GVMS students and families are welcome to join us on Tuesday, November 5th from 1:45PM-3:15PM at Power Play Rinks (www.skatepowerplay.com) in Exton for an Ice Skating Fundraiser!

Note that November 5th is no school for students as it is Election Day.

Invite your family and friends to join us at the rink! Skating is offered to us at a rate of $9 per person, including skates and walkers if needed.. (Admission is payable upon arrival at the rink, no advance RSVP is necessary.)

A portion of each attendee's admission will be refunded back to the GVMS PTO!

Power Play Rinks is located at 701 Haywood Dr, Exton PA 19341. Phone 610-458-9160.

Dress in warm clothing; long pants, a good pair of socks, jacket, and a pair of gloves. Children under 7 are required to wear a helmet, Bicycle, roller blading or hockey helmets will do. Helmets are encouraged for all regardless of age. An adult must be present (i.e., this is not a "drop off" event).

Snack bar will be open for food and hot drinks!

Tickets are $5 per student (with guardian). Wear your festive, fall flannel and join us for several rounds of the classic game, prizes, snacks, and pumpkin decorating. Remember, this is not a drop-off event, but a fun night for parents & guardians too!

People’s Light is a year-round professional theatre featuring artists from all around the country, and all summer sessions are led by working professional teaching artists. Our summer theatre explorations don’t begin with a script or an assigned role — they begin with curiosity. Rather than learn “what lines to say,” we begin with a toolbox and learn what we can build. Collaborative exercises generating stories and characters will uncover the link between our own understanding of the world and the performances we create.

GVMS Book Fair

The GVMS Library is hosting the spring Book Fair from March 28th-31st. The GVMS librarian, Mr. Dippell, is looking for parent volunteers to help staff the Book Fair in the GVMS library.

We need volunteers on Tuesday (3/28), Wednesday (3/29), Thursday (3/20), and Friday (3/31). There are 3 shifts per day: 8am-10am, 10am-Noon, Noon-2:20pm. We need 2 volunteers for each shift on each day. The duties may include working the register and tidying up book displays. Mr. Dippell and the librarian aid will be there to facilitate and help. No prior experience is required!

ACAC Fitness Fun Class

GVMS PTO is delighted to announce that ACAC West Chester has generously offered to host a fun fitness class for the kids of Great Valley Middle School on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 12pm!!

ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center is a health club with a ton of amazing amenities - including indoor/outdoor swimming pools, a full service gym with group exercise classes, spa, childcare, etc. For more details, check out ACAC West Chester on their website: www.acac.com/west-chester. ACAC West Chester is located at 1130 McDermott Drive, West Chester, PA 19380. The club is about 10-15 minutes from the middle school.

The Fun Fitness Class will include fun, interactive fitness activities for the GVMS kids. A parent/guardian is required to stay on site at ACAC for the entire event. One parent/guardian is free to use the gym equipment, rest in the cafe, make an appointment at the spa, etc. during the class time. Cost is $25/child (includes use of ACAC facilities by one adult who must stay on the premises during the class). 100% of the proceeds go to the GVMS PTO!!

We are also hosting a giveaway to support the GVMS PTO. Each $5 ticket provides for one chance to win a cool health and wellness themed prize - including a Lands' End gym duffle bag, a one month membership to ACAC fitness & wellness center, a gift card to Dicks Sporting Goods, 5 pack class giftcard for Cyclebar, and some neat Great Valley swag!! You do not need to attend the fitness class to enter the drawing.

Kick-off the new year with highest quality, wholesome and simple foods at honeygrow on Wednesday, January 11th from 10:30AM-9PM for our first GVMS Dine & Donate of 2023!  honeygrow is a Philly start-up focused on customizable stir-frys, salads and honeybars - the perfect combination of quick and healthy flavors for lunch, dinner, or a mid-day snack.  

The GVMS PTO will receive 20% of the proceeds raised throughout the entire day at honeygrow - for dine in, take out, honeygrow delivery, and pickup orders!  Please be sure to:
